3. Get ready for the university year. Read about the state, the city and about the university and acquire the necessary basic information about the Ukrainian culture.
4. Act according to the Ukraine law and avoid unnecessary complications.
5. Respect the Ukraine tradition and their way of life.
6. Coordinate views before starting school and set short and long-term goals and objectives throughout the process, constantly checking where you are and what needs improvement.
7. Be careful in your day-to-day life in a foreign country and follow local codes with the adjustment to the Ukrainian culture.
8. Meet the tasks and objectives that the university sets for you and avoid the need to request additional deadlines and requests for relief because of neglection.

1. 1. One of the first challenges is the language barrier and the English language studies – sharpen your English understanding. Make sure that you handle the language and try as much as possible to learn the Russian / Ukrainian language over time to improve your ability to communicate directly and in person with the lecturers and educators you come in contact with on a daily basis.
2. 2. The distance and disconnection from your family and good friends is not easy. Remember that you have the opportunity to get to know other cultures, other people and other friends for life and make future business connections networking with your classmates from other countries to benefit from these connections.
3. 3. On weekends when you have free time – travel. Ukraine is a beautiful country blessed with amazing nature, beautiful city streets and lovely corners everywhere. Prepare in advance for weekends trips to et familiar with the country and enjoy its views as well as spend the week pleasantly.
4. 4. Nightlife – All over Ukraine there are wonderful restaurants, best nightclubs in Europe, pleasant pubs that provide a local cultural experience and allow you to benefit from a diverse and fascinating nightlife.
5. 5. Tuition was probably a major factor when choosing a country to study in as well as the study language and the quality of the lecturers. All these must include additional consideration – the cost of living in other countries. The cost of living in Ukraine is substantially lower compared to other European countries.
6. 6. You must take into your consideration the location of the institution – think of the flight hours and costs. You would want to visit during the study as much as possible to your home country. Ukraine is located about 3 hours flight to all over Europe and flight costs to your home country are likely to be substantially lower compared to other places in the world.  The flights are very frequent and the short and lower cost flights enable you to visit your home country of origin and thus making your years of study easier.
7. 7. Choosing a university is not an easy task. Beyond all the required parameters, also check how many foreign students study there. As of 2020 app. 88,000 foreign students are studying in universities and this trend has been steadily rising every year. This fact will make it easier for you to meet friends, speak English and create future cultural and economic connections.
8. 8. Health is an important part of our daily lives, certainly when we come to study and live in a foreign country. Come to study in Ukraine only after you have secured health insurance that covers all your medical needs and made sure that you are covered and ready to receive quality medical care.
9. 9. Residences – check, compare and try to see a number of residential apartments before the start of the school year. Arrange the issue in advance and it is recommended to do so in front of international real estate chains that operate in Ukraine – such as the Remax – to find a residential apartment. Remember that a lot of residential buildings in Ukraine are old but very well built and will enable you wonderful living places. Check what the extra costs are except the rent.
10. 10. Phones to outside of Ukraine – Make sure you have a quality mobile device and start a mobile deal with one of the local cellular companies. Most of them have wonderful deals to communicate to a big number of countries.  The WiFi connection of the device is very important.

1. 1. Support – Decide together about studying in Ukraine. Consider starting conversations in the early stages as this is not an easy decision and there are hesitations that it might be a mistake.
   This is only natural and it is mainly due to the feeling of being away from home and in most cases these feelings are not related to the learning pan. Support them and help them to understand that it is the right decision to acquire education and that initially it might not be easy but the future will be completely different.
2. 2. You have decided to support the decision to study in Ukraine – You will learn to let go of the confidence that they are in Ukraine and you are at home, but rely on their judgment for the fact that they are there for a better future for them first and also for you.
3. 3. Make preparatory conversations – prior to leaving for Ukraine, conversations should focus mainly about alcohol / illegal drinking and any act that contravenes the law. They should remember that they will live in a foreign country and that they must respect the state’s laws, tradition and culture.
4. 4. Support them and encourage them to bond with friends quickly so that the loneliness feeling will disappear. Their stay will be especially easier in the case of connecting with people from their home country.

Read materials about the country, language, currency and values including conversion rates, the culture of the city where the university is located, important points in their space. This way their arrival will be easier.
